A man shot a doctor and then barricaded himself in a room at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. The suspect then shot himself and a family.
A doctor has been shot in the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and the suspected shooter was still at large, several reports said Thursday.
The medical condition is "serious bodily injury non-life threatening" after being shot in the eighth floor of the hospital, police spokesman in Baltimore, Anthony Guglielmi told CNN.
Earlier reports had the shooter is subdued and arrested, but confirmed that Guglielmi was wrong.
Initial reports also said the suspected shooter had taken at least one person hostage, but Guglielmi said police have no information about the hostages.
The Baltimore Sun said the sections of the Nelson Building, which houses a center chest, have been placed under lock and elsewhere have been evacuated. Some roads in the area of Broadway, this monument and North Wolfe Street have also been cordoned off by police.
Some reports said the shooter was locked in a room before a relative, possibly mother.
